Povzetek

Namen magistrska dela je raziskati, kako učenci prekmurskih šol v prvem in drugem vzgojno izobraževalnem obdobju razumejo pojem zvezdni utrinek oziroma meteor. Meteorji so eni izmed najzanimivejših pojavov, ki jih lahko opazujemo na nebu samo s prostim očesom, kar lahko deluje tudi zelo motivacijsko. Naloga je razdeljena na teoretični in empirični del. V prvem delu so predstavljeni: sončni sistem, utrinki oz. meteorji ter razvitost astronomije v prekmurski regiji. V empiričnem delu je predstavljena metodologija dela ter rezultati in analiza anketnega vprašalnika, kjer nas je zanimalo, kakšno vlogo imajo leta pri opazovanju neba ter ali obstajajo razlike med poznavanjem pojma pri starejših in mlajših učencih, med učenci z boljšim učnim uspehom ter med učenci, ki so vključeni v astronomske krožke. Predstavljeni bodo tudi podatki, kje so učenci pridobili informacije o utrinkih, ter ali jih omenjena tema sploh zanima. Rezultati so pokazali, da starost ne predstavlja ključne vloge pri razumevanju pojava, je pa zanimanje tisto, ki močno pripomore k boljšemu razumevanju, saj so učenci, ki so izkazali zanimanje za utrinke ali pa so člani astronomskega krožka, pravilneje odgovarjali na zastavljena vprašanja.

Sekundarni povzetek: The purpose of this master thesis is to research how students enrolled in first and second triad of elementary schools in Prekmurje, understand the concept of a meteor (also known as a shooting star). Meteors are one of the most interesting phenomena, which can be observed with a naked eye; therefore they can be very motivational. Thesis is divided into two parts: theoretical and empirical. The first part of the thesis deals with the solar system, meteors and development of astronomy in the region of Prekmurje. The second, empirical part of the thesis displays work methodology, as well as the results and analysis of the survey questionnaire. The goal of the questionnaire was to determine the importance of age in sky observance and to establish whether there is a difference in understanding of the concept between the older and the younger students, students with better grades and the students that participate in astronomy clubs. In addition to that, I will explain where the students acquired the knowledge of shooting stars and whether they appear to be interested in the topic. The results of the questionnaire indicate that age is not as significant for understanding of the concept as interest is. Students that were enthusiastic about the topic or are members of astronomy clubs got more correct answers than the ones who were not interested.
