Sekundarni naslov: Differences in physical efficiency between urban to rural pupils aged 9 to 11 years
Sekundarni povzetek: The purpose of this research was to determine whether children aged 9 to 11 years vary in movement efficiency depending on where they live. The study involved 576 pupils second educational period from various elementary schools in Slovenia. Physical efficiency of pupils was measured by tests: endurance running of a 20 meter stretch, running 10 x 5 meters, flamingo, touching the plate with hand, forward bend, long jump, raising the hull, shaking fists, overcoming obstacles backwards, jumps skipping ropes and dribbling the ball between the cones. Pupils were divided into 3 groups depending on their place of residence, namely urban, suburban and rural. To determine the differences in a movement efficiency between urban, suburban and rural pupils one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used. The statistical significance was determined at the level of 0.05 risk. For a more detailed analysis Scheffe post-hoc test was used. The results that were obtained in the mentioned tests of motor abilities were standardized and calculated based on their z-values. The values of individual tests were calculated, which check the motor efficiency, value was added up and divided by the number of tests for boys and girls separately. The results showed statistical differences among boys who come from different habitats, while these differences were not found among girls. In the tests, which determine the speed ability, coordination, endurance and flexibility were the most successful urban boys, while no statistically significant difference between groups of urban, suburban and rural girls was found. In the ability to balance and strength in girls as well as boys, we did not find statistically significant differences. Z-values showed statistically significant differences between urban and rural boys and between urban and suburban boys, while between girls in movement efficiency were not observed statistically significant differences. The findings therefore suggest that urban students show better physical abilities, where there was a statistically significant difference, certainly better than the suburban and rural children.
