diplomsko delo
Abstract

Inclusion of children whose Slovene is not a mother tongue in slovenian kindergartens |
Secondary abstract: |
The thesis deals with the issue of the inclusion of children whose mother tongue is not Slovene in Slovenian kindergartens. The theoretical part is divided into five chapters. The first chapter focuses on language and speech – on milestones in speech development, the adoption of the first and second language and the concepts of monolingualism, bilingualism and multilingualism. The second chapter discusses children, whose mother tongue is not Slovenian. The third chapter emphasizes Slovenian legislative documents dealing with children of foreigners, the fourth and fifth one emphasize kindergarten and parents as important factors in the adoption of another language.
The results of the research are presented in the empirical section in which one hundred preschool teachers, working in the Gorenjska kindergartens, participated. They completed questionnaires on experiences working with non-Slovene children. Questions relate to ways and methods of work, cooperation with parents and obstacles they face when working with children, whose mother tongue is not Slovene. The results of the research are followed by conclusions in which proposals for improving the current situation in the field of research and guidelines for further research are presented. |
