Abstract

Secondary title: Comparison of online banking costs among selected banks in Slovenia
Secondary abstract: The business of companies and banks that we know today are strongly influenced by the development of technology and the Internet. At the beginning, companies and banks developed electronic commerce. Banks then focused their development on e-banking and various forms of it and in recent decades, online banking has been developed the most, which today supplants all other forms of electronic banking. With the help of online banking, banks are available to their customers every day, 24 hours per day. Access to an online bank is not limited only to the computer, most banks offer access to their online bank also with a telephone and other telecommunication devices. By means of online banking, banks offer many services in order to be in a competitive advantage over other banks, and their main goal is to obtain as many clients as possible. The decision which bank a custumer will choose is also influenced by the costs associated with the access to the online bank. In the diploma thesis, we first presented electronic commerce and electronic banking, their advantages and disadvantages, and their designs. Then we presented one of the main forms of electronic banking - online banking. We described and presented the forms and advantages and disadvantages of online banking. The purpose of the practical part of the thesis was to show the costs of switching to online banking and to compare the cost of online banking with the cost of doing business the classic way. A comparison was made on the example of seven selected banks, which we presented in detail and we listed the services offered by individual online banks.
