Abstract

Metodologija: Uporabili smo kvalitativno metodologijo raziskovanja ter delno strukturiran intervju. Vprašanja smo osnovali na podlagi 14. življenjskih aktivnostih konceptualnega modela Virginie Henderson in dodatnih aktivnostih značilnih za bolezen. Vprašanja so odprtega tipa in se navezujejo na značilnosti bolezni. Rezultati: V načrtu zdravstvene nege smo izpostavili devet negovalnih diagnoz.

Secondary title: Influence of a rheumatic condition – fibromyalgia on life of the patient
Secondary abstract: Introduction: fibromyalgia syndrome is chronic rheumatic illness, whose main characteristic is pain. Diagnosing is based on clinical count and patient´s description as syndrome cannot be demonstrated by blood tests and scans. The most important part of medical treatment is to reduce pain and symptoms. The purpose of my degree paper is to discover nursing diagnoses with the patient and how the illness affects her life. Methods: we used qualitative methodology of researching and a semi-structured interview. We built questions on the basis of Virginia Henderson´s conceptual model of fourteen vital activities. The questions are open-ended solving and form an attachment to disease characteristics. According to received answers we exposed most frequent nursing diagnoses and answer research questions. Results: in health care plan we exposed nine nursing diagnoses. The patient started noticing the symptoms about seven years ago, before that she hadn´t had any problems. When the symptoms occurred, she was feeling pain and tiredness, over the years the symptoms have been progressing. In recent years she has started noticing problems with clumsiness, sleeping disorder, inflammation of oral mucosa, bladder infection and concentration problems. The new-found results were compared to the pre-existing. Discussion and conclusion: fibromyalgia has large effect on quality of life. There is a long path for patients to make a diagnosis, however, there is not much possibility to recover. The patient is caught in a vicious circle. Patients need people around who understand and support them, because treating the illness is therefore easier.
