Abstract

Magistrsko delo z naslovom Vidiki nezavednega v nadrealizmu in moji lastni ustvarjalni praksi sestavljata teoretični in praktični del.

Secondary title: Aspects of Unconscious in the Period of Surrealism and in my Own Creative Practice
Secondary abstract: The master's thesis Aspects of Unconscious in the Period of Surrealism and in my Own Creative Practice consists of a theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical part, I explored the intertwining of the ideas of the surrealist movement with the findings of psychoanalysis, which emerged with the new findings of Sigmund Freud at that time and aroused much interest among members of the movement. Freud's theory of the unconscious not only influenced the different vision of the artists, but also had a key influence on their creative process and the content of the works themselves. By using various methods and techniques, the Surrealists tried to get closer to their own unconscious world, and they expressed their findings in their artistic production. Psychoanalyst Jacques Lacan carefully studied and upgraded Freud's theory of the unconscious: among other things, he came to one important finding: the unconscious is structured as speech. In the practical part of the master's thesis, I focused on exploring aspects of the unconscious in my own creative work. I used an abstract technique, to which I added elements of a collage, as this enabled me to create a work of art where the reason dictated the design of the final image to the smallest extent.
