Secondary title: | Assessment of children with special needs in physical education: analyzing examples of good practice and formulating recommendations |
Secondary abstract: | The master’s thesis aims to present children with special needs and their inclusion in the regular education system and the appropriateness of their assessment. The focus is on the importance of including children with special needs in physical education. Adapted physical activity is very important for children with special needs. Some examples of good practice in teaching children with special needs that were shared by physical education teachers from different elementary schools in Slovenia are presented. Furthermore, we formulated examples, showing how to adapt various contents of the subjects’ curriculum. Each group of children with special needs has its specific characteristics. These adaptations are therefore formulated separately for each individual group. The adaptation of contents and standards of knowledge are also a prerequisite for the adaptation of evaluation. Numerous teachers of children with special needs find themselves in a difficult position when evaluating. This is why a presentation of adaptations and recommendations for assessment children with special needs is also included. |
