magistrsko delo
Abstract

Holistic approaches in coursebooks for English and German |
Secondary abstract: |
The interdisciplinary master's thesis explores holistic approaches in four textbooks intended for use in the foreign language classroom, two for English and two for German. The theoretical part of the master's thesis describes the history of holistic approaches, followed by a description of different learning types, methods and approaches that have been explored in the empirical part and appear in the analysed textbooks. The thesis also presents the functioning of the human brain. The intertwining and activation of both cerebral hemispheres and learning with all senses is crucial in holistic learning. The empirical part presents hypotheses, the course of work and analysis, as well as briefly presents the sample according to which the textbooks were analysed, and the method chosen for the analysis of the textbooks. A presentation of an individual textbook with an analysis supported by graphs and tables and examples of assignments from the textbook follows. Finally, a comparison of all textbooks and findings based on analyses and evaluation of the hypotheses is presented. Suggestions are also made for more integrated approaches in textbooks or for further enrichment in terms of integrated learning. |
