Secondary abstract: | In the article, function, audience and ethics are defined as essential elements of appropriate and effective public speaking. The role of the audience and ethical norms are represented according to informative and persuasive functions, because each of them points out specific elements. Subsequently, the curriculum and textbooks for Slovene language in high schools are analysed and on the basis of the inadequacies identified, some suggestions for improving the teaching of public speaking are given. |
