Abstract

Arheološka najdišča lahko prinesejo odkritja, ki nas fascinirajo in nam ponudijo vpogled v nekaj, kar je že dolgo pozabljeno in zapuščeno. Najdbe zahtevajo veliko pazljivosti in skrbi, saj je njihova ohranjenost zelo pomembna. V tem delu se tega problema lotimo s pomočjo digitalne rekonstrukcije najdenih ostankov v obliki 3D modelov. Ta pristop nam omogoča lažjo prenosljivost, shrambo in vzdrževanje ohranjenosti arheološke dediščine. Medtem ko nam ostanki in najdišča ponujajo dober vpogled v preteklost, nam ne morejo omogočiti izkušnje, ki bi nas postavila v takratni svet. To bomo zapolnili s tehnologijo navidezne resničnosti. Rezultat diplomskega dela je interaktivna vizualizacija arheološkega najdišča, ki s pomočjo igrifikacije in tekmovalnosti uporabniku ponuja potopitveno, a tudi zabavno izkušnjo.

Secondary title: Interactive visualisation of an archeological site in virtual reality
Secondary abstract: Archeological sites can uncover secrets, which fascinate us and offer an insight into the long forgotten and abandoned. Preservation of the quality of the relics requires a substantial amount of care. In this thesis, we tackle this problem with the help of digital reconstruction in the shape of 3D models. This approach allows us to transfer, store and maintain the archeological heritage with ease. While relics and archeological sites offer us a good insight into the past, they can’t deliver an experience which would truly place us in a world from which they were used. We will fill this gap with the help of virtual reality. The product of my diploma is an interactive visualization of an archeological site, which offers an immersive, but also – with the help of gamification and competitiveness – fun experience.
