magistrsko delo

Abstract

Magistrsko delo zajema teoretični in praktični del. Z anketo smo preverili delovne vrednote in vodstvene preference bodočih vodij generacije Z skozi prizmo elementov vodenja – stili vodenja, komunikacija, motivacija in skupinsko delo. Temeljne ugotovitve magistrskega dela so, da obstajajo pomembne razlike v delovnih vrednotah med generacijama Y in Z, vodje generacije Z bodo dale prednost participativnem stilu vodenja, zaposlene bodo motivirali predvsem z uporabo sodobnih pristopov, pri komunikaciji ne bodo težili k uporabi sodobne informacijske tehnologije in ne bodo vzpodbujali skupinskega dela. Na koncu raziskovalnega dela naloge smo komentirali ugotovitve in podali predloge za prakso.

Secondary title: Work values and leadership style of generation Z
Secondary abstract: There is a lot of studied domestic and foreign studies and literature on leadership, but leadership, as a function of management, is constantly opening up new, unexplored areas, especially in today's rapidly changing times. One such area is the work values and leadership style of the next generation, which we explored in the master's thesis. The master's thesis includes a theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical part, we presented the important role of leadership as a function of management. Leadership is defined by several theories, where most authors divide leadership according to four main perspectives of the study of leadership: theories of leadership characteristics, theories of leadership behavior, contingency or. situational theories and newer management models. According to individual theories of leadership, we distinguish between different styles of leadership, with autocratic, democratic or participatory and permissive leadership style. Recent management models include transactional management and transformation management. However, because a leader for successful leadership, in addition to leadership styles, must master 3 other elements of leadership - communication, motivation and group leadership, and we are well acquainted with these, we also studied these in detail in the theoretical part of the master's thesis. It is important for the success of any organization to focus on its employees and to be able to manage a rapidly changing workforce. Every successful leader must also have a good knowledge of the needs, characteristics and work values of his employees of all generations, because only in this way can he successfully influence employees to do the necessary work to achieve the goals of the organization. We researched the characteristics and values of Generation X, Y and Z, and compared the working values of the last two generations. Organizations have long focused on figuring out how to attract and develop the millennial workforce, but the next generation of workers, Generation Z, is already entering the labor market. Because we were interested in what the members of Generation Z would look like as leaders, and because we did not find the answer in the existing literature and research, we did a field research. The survey examined the work values and leadership preferences of future leaders of Generation Z through the prism of leadership elements - leadership style, communication, motivation and teamwork. The basic findings of the master's thesis are that there are important differences in work values between generations Y and Z, that leaders of generation Z will give preference to participatory leadership style, that they will primarily motivate employees by using modern approaches, that they will not strive to use modern information technology in communication and that they will not encourage teamwork. At the end of the research part of the thesis, we commented the findings and made suggestions for practice.
