Secondary abstract: | The paper introduces the analysis of both quality and quantity of Slovene schwa in spoken standard language based on data obtained from four radio announcers. The results are compared with other current research and with Bezlaj's Oris slovenskega knjižnega izgovora (1939). Investigation shows that the formants of schwa vary with regard to word position as well as the presence or absence of stress, proving that schwa is an unstable phoneme. |
