Abstract

Secondary title: The impact of inquiry-based learning on the development of science process skills of preschool children
Secondary abstract: Inquiry-based learning encourages children to explore concepts on their own. The purpose of the thesis is to examine how preschoolers' development of observation, comparison, deduction, prediction, planning, and research is impacted by inquiry-based learning in initial natural science activities. In a kindergarten class of 17 children, ages 5 to 6, we conducted three exploratory learning activities. The kids investigated ants in the first exercise, earthworms in the second, and stick insects in the third. We kept track of the children's progress throughout the exercises and compared their results at the end. We discovered that the kids improved in their ability to observe, compare, and conclude. Based on the findings, we have confirmed the significance of inquiry-based learning starting in the preschool years and its impact on the development of scientific methods.
