Abstract

Diplomska naloga obravnava vlogo in pomen Matije Senkoviča v slovenski pedagogiki. Kljub vidnemu delovanju na pedagoškem področju je bolj ko ne ostal spregledan. Glede na njegov prispevek k slovenski pedagogiki pa si gotovo zasluži večjo pozornost. Biografskemu orisu Matije Senkoviča sledi zgodovinska obravnava njegovega obdobja. Deloval je namreč v času številnih zgodovinskih preobratov, ki so vplivali tudi na šolstvo, šolski sistem in pedagoška gibanja. Med njimi je bila tudi reformska pedagogika, ki je zahtevala notranjo preobrazbo slovenskega šolstva in slovenske šolske zakonodaje. Velik del napredno mislečega učiteljstva pa se je priključil še k eni reformni akciji - k reformi notranjega šolskega dela, ki je znana pod imenom delovna šola. Senkovič je znan predvsem kot predstavnik delovne šole, vendar pa je ostalo spregledano njegovo zavzemanje za formalne stopnje, značilne za herbartizem.

Secondary abstract: The diploma thesis deals with the role and meaning of Matija Senkovič in the Slovenian pedagogics. Eventhough he was very active at the pedagogical field, he was somehow overlooked. According to his contribution to the Slovenian pedagogics, he deserves to be noticed with more attention. The historical part of his era follows the biographical description of Matija Senkovič. He was active in the time of numerous historical changes that affected the schooling, the school system and pedagogical movements. The reformative pedagogics was among them that demanded inner transformation of the Slovenian schooling and the Slovenian school legislation. A great part of thinking teachers joined to one reformative action - the reform of the inner school work, known as working school. Senkovič is known as a representative of the working school. However, his attempts for formal stages, typical for hebratism, remained overlooked.
