Abstract

Secondary title: A comparison of the effect of an exercise session and voluntary exercise on children's ball skills
Secondary abstract: The thesis presents a comparison of whether children learn ball skills better through a training class (structured movement activity) or through activities of the children's choice (unstructured). The theoretical part describes the movement development of a child and the development of his gross motor skills, as well as an overview of already existing research in this field. Basic movement skills, exercise class and exercise according to children's wishes are presented as different organizational forms of work in the preschool period. The practical part of the thesisi shows the research was based on a non-random sample of children from Vojnik kindergarten aged between four to six years old. From the results obtained through the research, we found that both exercise hours and activities of children's choice are important for work in the preschool period. For certain skills with the ball, it is better if the children get to know them through an exercise class, while for others it is better to offer the children accessories and learn the movements themselves.
