Secondary abstract: | This paper compares the semantic-syntactic features of the Slovene prepositions med and sredi and their Russian (quasi)equivalents meždu, sredi. The complex semantic structures of the prepositions contain components that may vary from language to language. The language- specific relations between the preposition and the other constituents of the phrase can be seen as an explanation for certain syntactic features of the specific language (Slo. med and nad, pod; Rus. meždu and okolo). |
