Abstract

Na začetku je krajši opis različnih vrst alternativnega izobraževanja, kamor spada tudi demokratično izobraževanje. Nato sledi poglavje, kjer so razvrščena različna pojmovanja demokracije in je predstavljeno, kam vse se uvrščajo demokratične, svobodne šole (Summerhill, Sudbury Valley School, Hadera, demokratična šola Sofija ipd.). V tretjem poglavju so opisane temeljne značilnosti demokratičnih šol in demokratičnega izobraževanja, nato pa sem se v osrednjem delu osredotočila na tri vidnejše demokratične šole in opis njihovega delovanja ter poglede na izobraževanje otrok in mladostnikov. V zadnjem poglavju teoretičnega dela sem pregledala možnosti za ustanovitev demokratične šole v Sloveniji. V empiričnem delu sem opisala delovanje in filozofijo demokratične šole Sofija in se osredotočila predvsem na vlogo učitelja, kot jo vidijo zaposleni na šoli. Zapis je nastal po številnih pogovorih z zaposlenimi in ravnateljico šole Magi Blagoevo, in sicer na podlagi moje šestmesečne prakse na demokratični šoli Sofija v študijskem letu 2019/2020.

Secondary title: Role of a teacher in the democratic education model
Secondary abstract: The first part is composed of a short description of the various types of alternative education which also encompasses democratic education. Following is a chapter which lists the diverse concepts of democracy and presents where democratic, free schools fit in (Summerhill, Sudbury Valley School, Hadera, Democratic school Sofia etc.). Third chapter starts with a description of the principles of a democratic school and education then continues with a focus on the three most popular democratic schools and a characterization of their operation and their views on education of kids and adolescents. The final chapter of the theoretical section looks into the possibility of founding a democratic school in Slovenia. The empirical section contains my description of the operation and philosophy of the democratic school of Sofia with the focus on the role of a teacher from the perspective of other school employees. Record came to be as a result of many talks with the employees of the school and the principal of the school Magi Blagoeva during my six months practical training at the Democratic school Sofia in the school year 2019/2020.
