vzroki in posledice
Abstract
Najprej smo pregledali vzroke povezane s posameznikom, kasneje z delovnim okoljem in nazadnje z zasebnim življenjem posameznika. V naših dveh analizah smo ugotovili, da nekaj ozaveščenosti o izgorelosti ljudje še vseeno imajo, predvsem so zelo dobro prepoznali simptome izgorelosti.

Employee burnout: causes and consequences |
Secondary abstract: |
In the theoretical part, we first generally examined occupational burnout: what it even is and how different authors conceive of it. In this chapter, we went through the symptoms and degrees of burnout, as well as comparing the differences between burnout and stress. In the following chapter, we studied the causes leading to burnout. We first analysed causes related to the individual, then those linked to the workplace, and lastly the ones having to do with the private life of the individual. In the last theoretical chapter, emphasis was on the consequences of and the recovery after burnout. This chapter was divided into psychological and physiological consequences and consequences related to organisation. Finally, we examined different methods of recovery. After that we polled random employees, our foremost intention being to find out how much they knew about the symptoms, causes, and effects of burnout. We also wanted to know to what degree the employees were informed by their companies about burnout, and whether they were offered any sort of education or workshops with the intention of increasing awareness about it and consequently reducing it. Next, we conducted interviews with three persons, all of which had suffered from burnout and had since recovered from it. In our two analyses, we found out that there in fact is some level of awareness among the employees about burnout. Most of all they were able to recognise the symptoms very well. People who had the opportunity to be around a person suffering from burnout had greater awareness than those who did not. We also found out that there is no significant difference in awareness between younger and older populations. But the most important finding of the study was that the employees do not receive from their companies sufficient and appropriate information related to burnout. Given all these findings, our advice to all companies is to increase educational workshops about this topic. This will increase the awareness about occupational burnout, which in turn will help reduce the percentage of burned-out people and decrease financial loss in companies. |
