Abstract

Makole so manjša občina v severovzhodnem del Slovenije. Kljub majhnosti pa se lahko pohvalijo z bogato naravno in kulturno dediščino. Magistrsko delo predstavlja pomen vključevanje regionalne geografije in zgodovine pri urah geografije in zgodovine v osnovni šoli na primeru Makol. Delo prikaže, da lahko vsak, tudi majhen kraj kot so Makole, vsebuje dovolj geografskih in zgodovinskih zanimivosti, ki se jih lahko vključi pri rednih urah geografije in zgodovine ali drugih dejavnostih v osnovnih šolah. S tem pa pripomoremo k večjemu zanimanju in lažjemu razumevanju geografskih in zgodovinskih vsebin ter večji odgovornosti in spoštovanju učencev do naravne in kulturne dediščine. To so potrdili tudi anketni odgovori učencev, ki si želijo več ur in dejavnosti povezanih z geografijo in zgodovino domačega kraja. Tudi učiteljice so se strinjale, da je proučevanje domačega kraja pomembno, a se zaradi obsežnega učnega načrta in pomanjkanja časa, za obravnavo teh vsebin redko odločijo.

Secondary title: Regional geography and history of a selected place in geography and history class in elementary school in the case of Makole
Secondary abstract: Makole is a small municipality in the north-eastern part of Slovenia. Despite its small size, it boasts a rich natural and cultural heritage. This master thesis presents the importance of integrating regional geography and history in geography and history lessons in elementary school, using Makole as a case study. The thesis shows that a town, even a small one, can contain enough geographical and historical attractions which can be included in regular geography and history lessons or other activities in elementary schools. In this way, we contribute to a greater interest and easier understanding of geographical and historical content, and a greater responsibility and respect of pupils for the natural and cultural heritage. This was also confirmed by the survey responses of pupils who wanted more hours and activities related to the geography and history of their hometown. Teachers also agreed that studying a hometown is important, but due to the extensive curriculum and lack of time, they rarely choose to address these contents.
