diplomsko delo
Abstract

Secondary abstract: |
Children's literature is of out most importance for a child in his development. Picture books are one of the most important media for children in their early years. A child can encounter reading and storytelling already in the first month of his life. The picture book then accompanies him through the kindergarten years and further into childhood and helps him develop all areas of his development. Everything we read to a child and everything he sees in different books affects his perception of the world. It is important that parents read to their children as much as they can. It is also good that educators use as diverse literature as possible and are always looking for new, suitable literature for their groups.
In the thesis, we tried to find out which genre of children's literature educators use when planning language activities in kindergarten, which literary genres they use and what, according to educators, is a good and suitable book for children in the preschool period.
In the theoretical part of the thesis, we presented what youth or children's literature is, how it developed in our country, what is the role of the child in youth literature, the role and importance of Slovenian picture books in our country and around the world, the beginnings of Slovenian picture books, problem picture books, educators and parents as promoters of reading in the preschool period, family reading, who is a young reader and bibliotherapy as an aid in working with children. In the empirical work, we wanted to find out whether educators know the difference between children's and youth literature, what kind of literature they use in the group, or whether it is difficult for them to find new ones. literature and literature with problematic themes. We were also interested in whether they encourage children and parents to read at home and which stories they think are worth reading in a group. |
