Abstract

Uporabili smo deskriptivno metodo pedagoškega raziskovanja in metodo praktičnega dela.

Secondary title: Dance activities in montessori kindergartens
Secondary abstract: The diploma thesis focuses on the preparation and implementation of dance activities in accordance with the didactic guidelines of the Montessori approach. In the theoretical part, we explored Montessori pedagogy, which encourages independent learning and an adapted environment for child development, as well as the role of dance in the preschool period, which enhances children's motor, emotional, and social skills. We emphasized the key characteristics of the Montessori teaching approach and the goals and methods of dance activities in kindergartens. In the empirical part, we researched how dance activities can be integrated into the Montessori environment and what will the children's responses be to these activities. We used the descriptive method of pedagogical research and the method of practical work. The research sample included a non-random group of children from the second age group (3-6 years) from Hiša otrok Montessori Maribor. We collected data through planned dance activities that were linked with Montessori pedagogy and qualitatively analysed. The research showed that children expressed high interest, motivation, creativity, and independence during dance activities. Kindergarten teachers played a key role in creating an optimum learning environment. Dance activities had a positive impact on the development of children's creativity, social skills, and the positive experience of music and movement. We found that the inclusion of dance activities in Montessori kindergartens significantly contributes to the comprehensive development of children. Dance activities can be regularly included in the daily routine, as they enhance children's experience and expression through music and movement. The findings of our research open up possibilities for further research and improvements in the integration of dance into the Montessori pedagogical approach.
