Abstract
Z vse večjo mobilnostjo prebivalstva postaja priseljevanje otrok v številne evropske države, tudi v Slovenijo, vse pogostejše. Med priseljenimi so številni otroci in ti vstopajo v vzgojno-izobraževalne ustanove, predvsem v vrtce, ki predstavljajo pomemben prvi stik z novo kulturo, jezikom in okoljem. Pri tem se praviloma pojavijo ovire - predvsem jezikovne prepreke ali kulturne razlike. Pomembno vlogo pri vključevanju otrok priseljencev imajo vzgojitelji, ki s spodbujanjem medkulturnosti oziroma različnosti otroku priseljencu olajšajo prihod v novo okolje. V empiričnem delu smo izvedli polstrukturirane intervjuje z desetimi strokovnimi delavkami v vrtcu, da bi dobili vpogled v njihove izkušnje in poglede na izzive pri delu z otroki priseljenci. Osredotočili smo se na delo vzgojiteljev in na proces vključevanja otrok priseljencev v vzgojno-izobraževalni sistem. Z raziskavo smo ugotovili, da delo z otroki priseljenci zahteva številne prilagoditve in dodatno strokovno podporo, saj imajo ti otroci specifične potrebe, ki jih je treba ustrezno nasloviti. Čeprav v zadnjih letih opažamo izrazito rast števila otrok priseljencev v vrtcih in šolah, še vedno primanjkuje učinkovitih sistemskih ukrepov za obvladovanje teh izzivov.

The challenges of inclusion of immigrant children into kindergarten |

With increasing population mobility, the immigration of children to many European countries, including Slovenia, is becoming more frequent. Among the immigrants, there are many children who enter educational institutions, primarily kindergartens, which represent an important first contact with a new culture, language, and environment. In this process, various obstacles typically arise, most notably language barriers and cultural differences. Educators play an important role in the integration of immigrant children, as they facilitate the child's transition into the new environment by promoting interculturality and diversity. In the empirical part of the study, we conducted semi-structured interviews with ten kindergarten professionals to gain insight into their experiences and perspectives on the challenges of working with immigrant children. We focused on the work of educators and the process of integrating immigrant children into the educational system. The research revealed that working with immigrant children requires numerous adjustments and additional professional support, as these children have specific needs that must be adequately addressed. Despite the noticeable increase in the number of immigrant children in kindergartens and schools in recent years, there is still a lack of effective systemic measures to address these challenges. |
