pisna zmožnost udeležencev Leta plus

Abstract

V uvodnem delu prispevka sta predstavljena program Leto plus, namenjen redno vpisanim mednarodnim študentom Univerze v Ljubljani, in populacija študentov, ki ga obiskuje.

Secondary abstract: The introductory section of the paper introduces the Year Plus programme, which is aimed at regularly enrolled international students at the University of Ljubljana, as well as the student population that attends it. In the main part, we seek to answer the question of what these students are able to write in Slovene at the conclusion of this program. The insights gained from our analysis have the potential to lead to more targeted pedagogical approaches to teaching learners with similar characteristics. To this end, the study whose results are presented here analyses the written production of the aforementioned group. We examine the most prevalent language errors and identify the challenges students encounter in written communication. In addition to the general level of the participants’ knowledge, we are interested in their performance at the level of vocabulary, comparing the vocabulary used in their texts with the core vocabulary list for Slovene as a foreign language. Finally, we discuss the use of online tools by the study population. We conclude by asking whether the knowledge of Slovene acquired by the Year Plus students is sufficient to meet their communicative needs.
