    Abstract

            | Secondary abstract: | Cosmetic products are an irreplaceable part of our lives today, which is why the cosmetics industry is considered as one of the most advanced, competitive and profitable industries in the world. A non-exclusive part of cosmetic products are creams, which are mainly used for skin care and protection. Fragrances in the form of synthetic perfumes or essential oils are often added to creams to improve the user experience, as a pleasant scent makes the application of the cream more enjoyable and authentic. One of very pleasant scents is a lavender with healing, soothing and antiseptic effects.
In our thesis, we prepared several types of lavender hand creams. The creams were prepared using the same procedure, but they differed in composition regarding different amounts of oil, wax and hydrolat. In addition to home-made creams, a commercial cream was studied to examine how different compositions of oil, wax and hydrolat in home-made creams differ from the commercial ones. We determined the rheological properties of all creams studied by using amplitude, frequency and flow test in order to determine which formulations are most suitable for effective application on the hands. |
