Abstract

Diplomska naloga obravnava trende razvoja kontejnerskih terminalov, ki so ključni elementi globalnih logističnih tokov in pomorskega prometa. Namen raziskave je analizirati razvojne smernice v upravljanju terminalov ter ugotoviti, kako sodobne tehnološke inovacije, trajnostne strategije in investicije vplivajo na njihovo konkurenčnost. V analizi so zajeta izbrana evropska pristanišča, med katerimi so Luka Koper, Marseille Fos, La Spezia, Klaipeda in Gdynia. Raziskava se osredotoča na primerjavo njihovega pretovora TEU v obdobju 2014–2024, zmogljivost sprejema ladij ter infrastrukturne izboljšave, ki so bile ključne za rast in prilagoditev tržnim razmeram. Ugotovitve kažejo, da so strateške investicije, digitalizacija procesov in ekološko usmerjene rešitve ključni dejavniki dolgoročne konkurenčnosti terminalov. Pristanišča, kot sta Luka Koper in Klaipeda, izkazujejo izrazito rast, kar je posledica prilagoditev tržnim potrebam in izboljšane povezljivosti z notranjostjo Evrope. Marseille Fos je kljub vplivu pandemije covida-19 ohranil stabilno rast, medtem ko La Spezia kaže trend upadanja zaradi povečane konkurence severnoevropskih pristanišč. Gdynia, kljub omenjenim trenutnim kapacitetam sledi razvojni poti z vlaganji v poglabljanje bazenov in nadgradnjo železniških povezav. Raziskava poudarja pomen trajnostnega razvoja in inovativnih pristopov pri načrtovanju prihodnosti kontejnerskih terminalov. Avtomatizacija in optimizacija logističnih procesov ter uporaba alternativnih goriv so ključne smernice, ki bodo oblikovale prihodnost evropskih pristanišč.

The analysis focuses on selected European ports, including Luka Koper, Marseille Fos, La Spezia, Klaipeda, and Gdynia. The research compares their TEU throughput between 2014 and 2024, vessel capacity, and infrastructure improvements that have contributed to their growth and adaptation to market changes. The findings highlight strategic investments, digitalization, and environmentally friendly solutions as key factors for long-term terminal competitiveness. Ports such as Luka Koper and Klaipeda have grown significantly due to market adaptation and improved inland connectivity. Marseille Fos has maintained stable growth despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, while La Spezia has experienced a decline due to increased competition from Northern European ports. Gdynia, though currently facing capacity limitations, is investing in basin deepening and railway expansions to enhance its operations. The study underscores the importance of sustainable development and innovative approaches in shaping the future of container terminals. Automation, logistics optimization, and alternative fuels will be critical factors influencing the next generation of European ports.
