Secondary title: Cultural and natural heritage of Nevlje
Secondary abstract: The settlement of Nevlje is situated less than a kilometre from Kamnik in the direction of the Tuhinj Valley. It is the oldest locality in this area and was first mentioned in 1232, when its parish was relocated to Kamnik. Nevlje has its own church – the oldest one in the vicinity of Kamnik, an elementary school for students of the first four grades, a local store as well as a bar and a fire station. It has rich historic significance, owing to the fact that it was an important Paleolithic site in the past. A testament to this are the mammoth remains excavated in 1938, during groundwork for a new bridge. Moreover, research has been made into the Vodiškarjeva hiša farmhouse, tracing its origin back to the 16th century. On the same site, broken glass from the 10th century has been found, which is solid proof that people have already inhabited this venue in the Middle Ages. There is also a myth circling around these parts that there was once a lake in the place of Nevlje. The people of Nevlje take great pride in some important figures who contributed to its significance. The thesis thus offers faithful accounts of the lives of a painter, an opera singer and a folk artist. There is division into three basic chapters. The first is concerned with the rich heritage of Nevlje and briefly discusses the municipality of Kamnik, to which it pertains. The second section is based on a didactic research conducted in the Nevlje elementary school, in the wake of a two hour classroom session with second grade students. An in depth analysis describes the course of the pedagogical field work. The third part of the thesis is empirical. An in-class survey has been completed in order to show how well students are acquainted with their home town, providing graphical representation of data.

Predstavila sem odgovore učencev in jih grafično obdelala. Zanimalo me je namreč, kako dobro učenci poznajo zgodovino svojega domačega kraja.
