Integration of contents in orientation and language in the first age group of preschool education |
Secondary abstract: |
The experience with space starts in the earliest childhood when a child becomes aware of himself separately from space and starts exploring what surrounds him. That is also one of the first forms of mathematics in early childhood.
The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the development of certain mental structures of preschool children that are important to their managing of space, basic features for the perception of space and later orientation in space. It also includes the developmental characteristics of children in the field of language and describes some of the theories relating to the development of speech.
The empirical part provides an insight into research results, more precisely to what extent planned mathematical activities influence the language development of children, and the use as well as the understanding of mathematical concepts in the field of orientation in space. |

Abstract (ePrints): |
