Secondary title: Professional identity of social pedagogues
Secondary abstract: During all my university studies I was asking myself (in)directly about where and how are concretely working social pedagogues in Slovenia. In order to clarify possible answers to the aforementioned questions, I explored in my thesis the concept of professional identity of a social pedagogue, that truly embarks much more than I thought before I started to write. In the theoretical part of my thesis I focus on the formation and development of professional identity in a broader societal perspective. Then I continue with the development of social pedagogy as a discipline and the characteristics of social pedagogues' work. In the latter ones, I am discovering parallels with the concept of a working relationship which I work out in detail in the last chapter of the theoretical part. The empirical part of my thesis includes a survey, which I carried out in order to verify which place the social pedagogues occupy, according to their opinion, among the ten different professions, regarding the professional prestige and how professionally autonomous they feel at work. I was dealing also with the question if the social pedagogues, within their work, apply any concepts that belong to the area of so called »modern paradigms of social work« (Čačinovič Vogrinčič, Kobal, Mešl, & Možina, 2009), and if they apply any of those paradigms in their personal life. In my survey I found out that the social pedagogues: think that they do know which solutions are the most appropriate for users; they think that their work is indispensable for better life of people; they are self-confident; they trust the user; the status of the profession of a social pedagogue is placed on third last place when compared to the professions of doctors, lawyers, psychologist, therapist, priest, teacher, policeman, pedagogue and social worker and that they feel professionally autonomous in their work.

Abstract (ePrints): O tem, kje in kako konkretno delajo socialne pedagoginje v Sloveniji sem se (ne)posredno spraševala ves čas tekom študija.
