Secondary title: Interpretation of diversity in contemporary children's literature
Secondary abstract: In my thesis I focused on the taboo theme of diversity in children's literature. I wanted to find out, how children respond to the issue, how they read and interpret books with that theme and what their ability to identify with a literary person is. At first, I defined the theoretical background and interpretation of children's literature, contemporary children's literature, picture books, themes, and taboo themes. Next, I detailed the taboo topic of diversity in contemporary children's literature and provided definitions, essential for understanding the whole task. I also presented the topic of diversity in the selected picture books and analyzed them. Last is the empirical part, which is designed as action research. Here I described, analyzed and interpreted in practice taken actions, resulting from reading of three picture books on the topic of diversity. I presented conclusions, related to previously formed hypotheses.

Najprej navajam teoretične osnove in razlage o mladinski književnosti, sodobni mladinski književnosti, slikanici, temi in tabujskih temah. Obravnavam in predstavim temo drugačnosti v izbranih slikanicah in jih analiziram.
