Secondary abstract: In graduation thesis we present how would judo as martial art with its elements impact developing independence of people with intellectual disabilities. In accordance with the object and problem of graduation thesis we present judo and its impacts on the general population and on people with intellectual disabilities, we study the impact of sport on people with intellectual disabilities, the meaning of developing independence for people with intellectual disabilities and to synthesize the possible impacts of judo on independence of people with intellectual disabilities. We used the method of systematic literature review. It is proven that judo has positive effect on physical and psychical attributes of general population. As a martial art, judo has a big impact on one’s personality and acceptance of different people. Sport has an impact on motoric abilities, emotions and stimulation of social interactions. Judo has an impact on improvement of motoric abilities of people with intellectual disabilities. The environment in which judo takes part is important, on tatami. Positive attributes of tatami instead of parquet, including games into judo training and kimono, which is a special suit for training judo, were proven. Development of independence is one of the subjects in the special education programme and is also one of the most important ones for quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities.

Abstract (ePrints): V diplomskem delu predstavljamo, kako bi judo kot borilna veščina s svojimi elementi lahko vplival na razvijanje samostojnosti oseb z motnjami v duševnem razvoju. V skladu s predmetom in problemom diplomskega dela predstavljamo judo in njegove vplive na splošno populacijo in na osebe z motnjami v duševnem razvoju, preučujemo vplive športa na osebe z motnjami v duševnem razvoju, pomen načrtnega razvijanja samostojnosti za osebe z motnjami v duševnem razvoju in sintetiziramo možne vplive juda na samostojnost oseb z motnjami v duševnem razvoju. Uporabili smo metodo sistematičnega pregleda literature. Ugotovljeni so pozitivni telesni in duševni vplivi juda na splošno populacijo. Kot borilna veščina ima judo velik vpliv na osebnost posameznika in na njegovo sprejemanje drugih, drugačnih. Šport vpliva na motorične sposobnosti, čustvovanje in spodbujanje socialnih interakcij z drugimi. Judo vpliva na izboljšanje motoričnih sposobnosti oseb z motnjami v duševnem razvoju. Pomembno je okolje, kjer poteka vadba juda, na tatamiju. Ugotovljene so bile pozitivne lastnosti tatamija namesto parketa, vključevanje igre v treninge juda in kimono, ki je posebna obleka, v kateri se trenira judo. Razvijanje samostojnosti je eden izmed predmetov v posebnem programu vzgoje in izobraževanja in je eden pomembnejših za kakovostno življenje oseb z motnjami v duševnem razvoju.
