Abstract

Secondary title: Analysis and comparison of social entrepreneurship and its business environment in Slovenia and Croatia
Secondary abstract: The functioning of the economy is subject to current economic trends that dictate the expansive development of social entrepreneurship. The imperfect functioning of the market leads to the emergence of non-traditional firms prevailing within social entrepreneurship field; its implementation and expansion can be observed especially in recent times. Social entrepreneurship, unlike the traditional concept of entrepreneurship, which deals with a narrow set of rigorous financial goals, encourages the logic of solidarity, which in turn stimulates social cohesion and prosperity. This indicates the important role and power held by the entrepreneurship in the current global economic crisis. To better understand the phenomenon of social entrepreneurship, there was, in the context of the master's thesis, conducted an analysis of social entrepreneurship in Slovenia and Croatia, as well as the PESTLE analysis of the two selected environments was completed. On the basis of the analysed data a comparison of the environmental impact of the emergence of social entrepreneurship in Slovenia and Croatia was carried out. By the means of analyses we assessed the differentiation of social entrepreneurship in these countries and their influential environment. The environment in Slovenia is not more conducive to social entrepreneurship, as in Croatia. According to the analysis social entrepreneurship is more present in Croatia than in Slovenia. The survey reveals that the environment is an important factor, which affects the formation of social entrepreneurship, but it is not the only one. Economic policy-makers play an important role in the environment, what can be recognized also at encouraging social entrepreneurship risk-taking.
