Abstract

Dobljene kvantitativne podatke smo analizirali, jih statistično obdelali s pomočjo računalniškega programa Microsoft Excel ter rezultate ponazorili v obliki frekvenčnih tabel in grafov. Rezultati raziskave.

Secondary title: Awareness of patients about allergies
Secondary abstract: Allergy is a chronic disease that from year to year affects a growing number of people. Most of them are children, so the awareness of parents is essential, because with that we could achieve a reduction in the incidence of allergies already in childhood and improve the quality of life for people with allergies. The purpose of the study was to determine the awareness of parents about allergies by children. The methodology of research: the analysis of domestic and foreign literature has enabled us to define the theoretical starting points. To carry out empirical work, we used descriptive and causal method. We got the information through partially structured questionnaire, which contained 16 questions. We analyzed the quantitative data, statistically processed them with the help of a computer program Microsoft Excel and then illustrated the results in the form of frequency tables and graphs. The results of the research: through the research we found that allergies occur more frequently by boys than by girls. Most children with allergies are in the age group from 0 to 3 years old. The most frequent are skin rashes or neurodermatitis, then follows an allergy to house dust and dust mites. We found out that parents have relatively sufficient knowledge and that they are fairly well educated about allergies by children, because 63 % of them answered that they are sufficiently educated about the allergies. 53 % of parents would attend the lectures on the topic of allergies by children, 20 % did not know whether they would attend and 27 % would not have attended lectures. Conclusion: there are a lot of allergies recorded by children and they are increasing from year to year. It is therefore more and more important the health-educational work of nurses who can best help advice and support children and parents.
