diplomsko delo
Abstract

A PRESCHOOL CHILD AND FAMILY IN THE CLUTNES OF MODERN-DAY ADDICTIONS |
Secondary abstract: |
The thesis entitled "Pre-school child and family in the light of new-age addictions" consists merely of a theoretical part. We decided to restrict ourselves to theory due to the sensitive nature of the topic as such. The notion of the family has been defined and different types of families have been described. The role of the family as an environmental factor has been specified as well as the influence of primary socialisation on child development and family relations. Various kinds of addictions have also been indicated, which are not at all seldom nowadays. Their underlying causes and consequences have been explained which are noticeable for many years after and do damage to the whole family. The main part ends with the description of assistance offered to addicts and their families. The purpose of this thesis is to explain and show new-age addictions, their roots and consequences and relations among members of the family where addiction is present. The thesis aims to define the notion of the family, to present new-age addictions, their roots and consequences, to explain relations among family members where new-age additions are present in the family, and finally to show what action should be taken in case of new-age addictions. To this end, the thesis summarises and compares theories originating from different authors. Based on obtained information, we have concluded that new-age addictions adversely affect the overall development of the child and the communication in the family, that children of addicts are more prone to addictions in their adulthood, that addictions result from emotional instability and offer a consolation to the addict, and that addiction impacts the economic and social status of the family. |
