Abstract

Neprijazno okolje in tehnološki razvoj sta moderna medijska podjetja postavila v položaj, kjer sta neprilagodljivost in neodzivnost hitro kaznovana.

Secondary title: Improving the organization of modern media companies
Secondary abstract: Hostile environments and technological development are punishing inflexible and unresponsive companies. Market shares on media dual markets are again in danger for giants of media industries. Companies were forced to shut down their business, lay people off and find new organisational and technological solutions. From these challenges new trends arise. Companies are diversifying their product portfolio on new markets and changing their organisational structure. Integrated newsrooms are connecting technologies, human resources and spaces that were separated in the past. Newspapers are using social media on the internet and implementing paywalls in their attempt to monetize web-based content. With the advancement of mobile technologies the media is present on multiple platforms. Improving modern companies is dependent on understanding the environments, technologies and organisational theory. This is the only way for a modern media company to implement new technologies, integrate newsrooms, diversify their product portfolio and monetize the content.
