Abstract
V diplomskem delu smo ugotavljali, kako veliko vlogo lahko imajo družbeni mediji kot orodje za obveščanje in mobilizacijo v družbenih gibanjih ter ali lahko sprožijo revolucijo, pri čemer smo se osredotočili na dogajanje v Mariboru. Metode, ki smo jih uporabljali, so pregled literature, analiza, anketa in intervju. Rezultati so pokazali, da so bili družbeni mediji v primeru mariborskih protestov zelo uspešno orodje za obveščanje, a nimajo tolikšnega vpliva na mobilizacijo ljudi. Ugotovili smo namreč, da družbeni mediji ne sprožijo revolucije, saj mora zanjo obstajati nek zunanji povod, lahko pa jo pomagajo oblikovati.

The diploma thesis was a basis for establishing if the social media proves effective as a tool for giving information and for mobilization within social movements, or if it can start a revolution. The focus was on the social action in Maribor. The methods used were the literature review, analysis, survey, and interview. The results have shown that the social media was a very useful tool for informing in case of the Maribor protests. However, it does not have a significant effect on the mobilization of people. It was found out that the social media could not start a revolution since there must first exist an external cause for it. Nevertheless, it can help form it. |
