Abstract

Secondary title: ACQUIRED COMPETENCES OF PRESCHOOL EDUCATION STUDENTS IN THE FIELD OF SPORTS ACTIVITIES IN KINDERGARTEN
Secondary abstract: The diploma paper entitled Acquired Competences of Students of Preschool Education in the Field of Sports Activities in the Kindergarten, we wanted to clarify and define the acquired competences of the students in the final year of the study programme Preschool Education at University of Maribor and University of Primorska. The theoretical part presents physical/sports activities and educators' professional qualifications for working in the kindergarten. It describes the key, general and specific educators' competences in the field of sports activities in the kindergarten. The competences are further divided on desired, acquired and actual. In the empirical part, we employed a causal-experimental method, as a research method we used a questionnaire which was completed by 111 students of UM Faculty of Education and Faculty of Education UP. They represent a random sample. The purpose of this paper was to determine the acquired skills of students in the final year of the study programme Preschool Education in the field of sports activities in the kindergarten and to determine whether there are differences in acquired competences between students of the final year of the programme Preschool Education at the University of Maribor and the University of Primorska. We have found out that students of both faculties engage in recreational sports once a week and that students of Faculty of Education UP attach greater importance to general and specific competences than students of Faculty of Education UM. The results have shown that the students who have completed general secondary school have more acquired competences and attach more importance to implementation of physical/sports contents than others, and that students who have completed other secondary schools feel the most qualified for carrying out physical/sports activities in the kindergarten.
