Abstract

V zaključnem delu z naslovom Prepoznavanje in poimenovanje sličic ter pripovedovanje otrok 1. starostnega obdobja smo v teoretičnem delu predstavili govorni razvoj, njegove dejavnike, faze govornega razvoja, pripovedovanje, razvoj otrokovega besednega zaklada in oblikovanje prvih stavkov.

Secondary title: RECOGNITION OF PICTURES AND VERBAL DESCRIPTIONS AND NARRATIVE SKILLS OF YOUNG CHILDREN
Secondary abstract: The theoretical part of the final thesis Recognition and verbal description of pictures and narrative skills of Young Children presents an overview of language development, its factors, and phases of language development. It investigates how children form their first sentences, their narrative skills and vocabulary development. One of the children in the group investigated in the thesis was not Slovenian, i.e. his mother tongue was not Slovenian therefore the theoretical part includes also the acquisition of a second language. The purpose of the empirical part was to establish the progress of a child's recognition, verbal description and the development of narrative ability in the period of five months. The main objective of the thesis was to determine the progress of young children's language development. The descriptive method of research was used in the completion of the thesis. The results show that in the period of five months there is progress in the children's language development. There are children progressing faster and other ones progressing slower. After five months, the majority of the children could describe pictures using adequate vocabulary. The second assessment report indicates that all of the children used more words to describe the pictures than they had used during the first assessment. The report also indicates that after five months the child whose mother tongue was not Slovenian could use Slovenian words to describe most of the pictures.
