Sekundarni naslov: Homeschooling in Slovenia - learner's socialization and individualization
Sekundarni povzetek: Homeschooling as an alternative form of schooling is still fairly unknown, uncommon and unexplored in Slovenia, and it seems that this is what makes it so interesting. Homeschooling allows an individual, i.e. a student, much more freedom and room to follow their own interests, inner impulses, and enables them to develop their potential to the maximum. Even though there are many prejudices about homeschooling, mainly due to ignorance, it seems that children who are educated at home are well socialized and successful in life. In fact, homeschooling is a good indicator of the fact that socialization is not limited to those socialization factors that society favors as important or even necessary, but that the process of socialization happens throughout one's life. The purpose of the thesis is to approach homeschooling in Slovenia from the sociological point of view and to explain how socialization and individualization happen in this form of education, as well as to present the advantages that homeschooling, and consequently the family life dynamics bring to the whole family. The purpose was also to present the challenges children and parents face if they opt for such way of education. The research part of the thesis is based on qualitative interviews, and the results show that the process of socialization in homeschooling is an advantage rather than a challenge, and that children educated at home are able to fully develop.
