diplomsko delo
V tretjem delu predstavim praktični del diplomskega dela - postopek svojega dela.

A GRAPHICAL APPROACH TO FIGURAL PAINTING |
Sekundarni povzetek: |
In my diploma entitled A Graphical Approach to the Figural Painting I've concentrated on those fields of the theory and the history of art that were the ground stones for my artistic creativity. I've distributed the whole project in three parts; the first part is dedicated to the theory of art (mostly to the color and the composition) and the history of art (the artistic movements) that were closely linked with my work. The second part is devoted to all the painters who were active in these periods and those that are close to my own artistic creating. In this section all different aspects begin to link up together more visibly (even in the first part of the diploma you can also notice how the different artistic movements influenced each other). Here I present a very important part of my diploma - my personal interview with the American comic book artist Andy Brase, who I interviewed via the internet. This was a special treat for me, because he has been my favorite comic book artist for a long time, thou he rather calls himself an illustrator or a fantasy artist. In the third part I present the practical section of my diploma - the procedure of my work. I also show and discus my most important paintings in detail and back everything up with the previously mentioned artistic movements. In a similar way as I crowned the theoretical part with the interview with Andy Brase I've crowned the practical section with my first independent exhibition, which took place in the castle Rače. In this part I also share some of my gained experiences and come to the final conclusion in which all acquired knowledge and findings link up together. The diploma touches numerous, for my work important, fields: from the theory of colors and composition I pass over to the old Japanese art and continue with the symbolism and the secession, at which point I also include the concept of femme fatale. From there I continue with the surrealism, the Pop Art and the American comic book art. Here I switch to the selected artists: Aubrey Beardsley, Alfons Mucha, Roy Lichtenstein, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and finish with a more personal note - with the Andy Brase interview. At the end of the theoretical part I continue with the practical section, which is followed by the enclosure where all my before unused paintings, the original interview with Andy Brase and the certificate for the performed exhibition in castle Rače can be found. |
