Sekundarni naslov: Efficiency and types of musical activities in speech and language communication disorders therapy
Sekundarni povzetek: This thesis highlights the use of music in speech-language communication disorder therapy. The connection between the field of music, speech and language is explored. The common elements are presented as well as similarities in processing and the course of development. In the research, we analyse the impact of music on speech-language development and reach the conclusion that music has a significant influence especially on increasing of verbal memory, improvement of listening skills, building of vocabulary and development of phonological awareness. The main goal of the thesis is to determine musical activities that improve speech-language communication disorders based on analysing the levels and functions, which are most frequently disturbed. In the thesis we explore the level of efficiency and the success rate of preventing and reducing disturbed functions and levels for each type of the mentioned musical activities. Selection of exercises suitable for individual speech-language communication disorder is prepared based on analysis of literature. In the therapy of vocal and articulation disorders singing is the most appropriate activity, but when treating apraxia singing is combined with rhythmic activities. Singing can also be included in therapy for dysarthria and stuttering, but for phonological disorder we combine both listening to the music and rhythmic activities. Singing and rhythmic activities are used to treat aphasia, and when treating speech delay three different methods are used: listening to the music, singing and playing an instrument. Rhythmic activities and listening to the music are also convenient for dyslexia. Playing an instrument and all other musical activities can be used to deal with autistic spectrum disorders.

Povzetek (ePrints): V diplomskem delu, kjer je izpostavljena uporaba glasbe v terapiji govorno-jezikovnih komunikacijskih motenj, raziskujemo povezanost glasbe ter področja govora in jezika, predstavimo skupne elemente, podobnosti v procesiranju in poteku razvoja, analiziramo vpliv glasbe na govorno-jezikovni razvoj in ugotavljamo, da glasba še posebej vpliva na področja povečanja obsega verbalnega spomina, razvijanja sposobnosti poslušanja, povečanja besedišča in razvoja fonološkega zavedanja.
