The aim of the thesis is to distinguish possible anatomical organic causes for the articulation disorder in the medium-sized set of children aged 5 years. The randomly selected group of children for the research consists of 64 children visiting kindergarten and 28 children from health centre which have already been given a speech therapy. The children are from Škofja Loka, Mengeš, Železniki and Žiri. Parents of these children completed a questionnaire on possible anatomical organic causes for the emergence of articulation disorder. We have found out that 37 percent of the children suffer from articulation disorder. We have joined the group of children, which have articulation disorder, with the group of those children, which have been identified with the disorder by their parents, into investigated group. Based on the speech therapist’s examination of the children in the investigated group, we identified possible anatomical organic causes for the articulation disorder of the group of observed children. In the total investigated group, the anatomical organic causes have been identified in 21 cases, namely too short sublingual bond in 6 children, malocclusion in 3 children, frequent ear infections and rhinitis in 11 children, and a cleft palate in one child. With a comparison of group of children with and the group of children without articulation disorders we have not found a statistically significant relation between articulation disorders and frequent ear infections and rhinitis. A significant relation was found between articulation disorders and the emergence of speech-language disorders in family. Therfore, we assume that the genetic factors prevail in development of correct children's articulation. On the other hand, our data shows that frequent ear infections can not lead into poor hearing during the childern's development of articulation patterns. The results of the research are given in data tables and informative graphs in the thesis. |

V naši raziskavi nismo ugotovili statistične povezanosti artikulacijskih motenj s pogostimi vnetji ušes in nahodi. Podatki so prikazani v tabelah in grafih. |
