diplomski projekt

Organization of modern enterprises |

Companies are affected by many sorts of challenges. Most of them come from the environment and we can claim as a fact, that the environment is changing more and more rapidly with the faster and free flow of information. Demanding markets, society norms and values, institutional climate and development of science and technology demand a more complicated organizational structure. Effectiveness and efficiency of companies increasingly depends on their ability to adapt to the environment and other changes, readiness for what they will do in the future. The ability of learning, collaboration, innovation and flexibility, which enable the ability to timely recognize changes, opportunities and threats and consequently adapt are therefore crucial.
Strictly hierarchical, mechanistic organizational structures are becoming less common in more and more industries. They are being replaced by a more flexible, decentralized structures that are capable of frequent and rapid changes. Tasks are no longer so clearly defined and specialized. There is a tendency for flexibility and independence of these tasks. Instead of strictly vertical, communication runs in all directions, the content consists of more information and advice than only rough instructions and superior decisions. These factors create conditions for maximizing the potential of each employee and the company. Such organization is defined more by organizational processes than by the organizational structures. The structure can be compared to human anatomy, but the processes can be compared to the circulatory system and other processes that take place within the body.
Company leaders must in addition to the vision, mission and objectives ensure the presence and maintenance of certain factors that allow the existence of a flexible, innovative company. They must make use of activities and tools, which can stimulate and manage cooperation, teamwork, invention-innovation processes and creativity. They have to take care for personal and career development of employees. |
