Obstajajo štiri kategorije navezanosti, v katere uvrstimo otroke, glede na vzorce njihovega obnašanja do starša; to so varna navezanost, upirajoča navezanost, izogibajoča navezanost in dezorganizirana navezanost.

Sekundarni naslov: Patterns of child's attachment, which show upon leaving kindergarten
Sekundarni povzetek: In the diploma thesis titled Patterns of Children's Attachment as Manifested upon Leaving Kindergarten, we examined the patterns of children's attachment. The latter is denoted as the relationship between the parent and the child. There are four categories of attachment, in which children can be classified depending on the patterns of behaviour they display towards their parent: secure attachment, anxious-ambivalent attachment (also known as resistant attachment), anxious-avoidant attachment and disorganized/disoriented attachment. Rather than upon their separation, a child's attachment to their parent can best be seen in the child's reaction to their parent upon seeing them again; the attachment pattern can therefore be identified when the parent returns to the kindergarten to pick up their child. Our primary aim was to establish which attachment patterns are the most common when the parents come to pick up their children, and to ascertain whether any differences exist in terms of the children's/parents' gender, the children's age and the time of their attending kindergarten. By analysing the answers from the survey questionnaire, we found out that the majority of the children mostly display patterns of secure attachment to their parents. No significant differences were detected in relation to the above-referenced factors. In the final part of the thesis, we provided detailed findings that came up while writing the diploma thesis, along with our ideas on further research that could be conducted on the attachment of pre-school children.
