Povzetek
Dandanes se študentje ob vstopu na trg dela soočajo z vse večjimi zahtevami delodajalcev. Takrat ugotovijo, da jim primanjkuje določenih znanj, sposobnosti in izkušenj, ki bi jih lahko pridobili v času študija. A tekom le-tega se s samo karierno orientacijo ne ukvarjajo. Tako zamudijo številne priložnosti, ki jih zanje organizirajo različne institucije. Najbolj aktivne so izobraževalne ustanove, kjer delujejo karierni centri, ki organizirajo delavnice, sejme, seminarje, predavanja ipd. Nudijo tudi brezplačno karierno svetovanje. Študentje se začnejo zavedati pomena karierne orientacije prepozno, kar lahko zmanjša njihovo možnost uspeha pri zaposlitvi in nadaljnji karieri.
V diplomskem delu smo raziskali, ali študentje poznajo institucije, ki delujejo na področju karierne orientacije, in v kolikšni meri te institucije vplivajo na karierno orientacijo študentov. Poleg tega nas je zanimalo tudi, koliko so študentje aktivni na področju karierne orientacije in kakšni so njihovi plani za karierno pot. Raziskavo smo izvedli med študenti Fakultete za organizacijske vede. Dobljene rezultate smo analizirali s statističnim programom SPSS in jih v razpravi interpretirali ter komentirali. Ugotovili smo, da se študentje zavedajo pomembnosti karierne orientacije, vendar pa na tem področju vseeno niso aktivni.

The role of career orientation in tertiary education |

Nowadays, when entering the labor market, students face increasing demands from employers. It is then, when they realize that they lack some of the knowledge, skills and experience, they could gain during their time of studies. But in the course of their studies they do not engage in career guidance. They miss a number of opportunities organized especially for them by different institutions. The most active are educational institutions, where career centers operate, which organize workshops, fairs, seminars, lectures, etc. They also offer free career counseling. Students become aware of the importance of career orientation too late, which can reduce their chance of success in employment and further career.
In the diploma thesis we wanted to explore whether the students know the institutions that work in the field of career orientation and to what extent these institutions influence their career orientation. In addition, we were interested in the number of students who are active in the field of career orientation and what are their plans for a career path. The research was conducted among students of Faculty of Organizational Sciences. The results were analyzed with the statistical program SPSS and interpreted and commented in the discussion. We have established that students are aware of the importance of career orientation, however they are still not active in this field. |
