Sekundarni naslov: Castle visits of kindergarten groups
Sekundarni povzetek: The purpose of this diploma thesis is to study to what extent kindergarden groups make visits to castles. The goals of the thesis were to research and determine how frequently preschool teachers plan visits to cultural establishments and what these establishments are; how many times they have planned a castle visit in the course of their career; and what were the reasons for planning or not planning castle visits. We were also interested in how many times a month the personnel at Sevnica Castle host preschool children, which programs are most popular among kindergardens and what pedagogical curators aim for when planning programs for preschool children. The thesis is composed of two parts: the theoretical and the empirical part. In the theoretical part, we described a castle and what life is like in a castle, while also giving reasons for visiting a castle and its offer for preschool children. We provided a more detailed description of the children's program at Sevnica Castle and emphasized the importance of the cooperation of kindergardens with the wider environment as well as with pedagogical curators. The theoretical part also took into consideration the influence of an adult in establishing a child's relationship to culture, the duties of both teachers and parents, and the role and meaning of experiential learning. In the empirical part, we present the results of the study on castle visits of kindergarden groups. Data collected through survey questionnaires of preschool teachers were processed using the SPSS software, while the data obtained through survey questionnaires of the pedagogical curator were processed as a structured interview, which means they were processed substantively, as a critical assessment of the answers provided. Based on the results of the study we established that castle visits of kindergarden groups are a less frequently planned activity than visits to other cultural establishments, which is the consequence of different factors and reasons. Nevertheless, the results also show a sufficient share of preschool teachers that place a high value on visiting castles, which reminds us of educators' recognition of the significance of learning about history, cultural heritage and art in connection with experiential learning.
