magistrsko delo
Povzetek
V magistrskem delu so predstavljeni duhovniki kot povzročitelji spolnih zlorab otrok v Sloveniji.

Priests as perpetrators of child sexual abuse in Slovenia |
Sekundarni povzetek: |
This master thesis deals with priests as perpetrators in child sexual abuse cases in Slovenia. To gain a basic understanding of the subject, the theoretical part defines the term child sexual abuse. Definitions of various authors describe different forms and stages of child sexual abuse, which are classified as criminal offences in the further text. The master thesis also presents various indicators of child sexual abuse along with some common misconceptions about sexual abuse cases. The theoretical part describes the specific characteristics of victims, girls as well as boys, and also of perpetrators of sexual violence, mainly priests, who especially stand out because of the nature of their profession. The perpetrators of sexual abuse can be present in all religious and social groups, from priests in their church communities, teachers in private schools, Jehovah’s witnesses, conservative Turkish Muslims, to communists and artists (Waiss in Galle, 2001).
The empirical part is based on the research, which was conducted with the help of an online survey. The target population in the research were the residents of the Republic of Slovenia over the age of 18. For obtaining the necessary data the research uses snowball sampling.
It was concluded that in the majority of cases the interviewees are prepared to report any form of child sexual abuse perpetrated by a priest, whether it was committed through the use of information technologies or with physical contact. The results show that the majority would rather report the abuse to police than a non-governmental organisation. Interviewees with a religious background would take more time to report child sexual abuse perpetrated by priests, even though the confidence in priests is declining due to increasing public and media awareness about child sexual abuse cases in the church. |
