Uporabili smo metodo anketiranja. Za vrednotenje zastavljene hipoteze smo uporabili hi-kvadrat test. Za preverjanje hipoteze in ugotavljanje statistično pomembnih razlik smo uporabili p-vrednost (p<0,05). Podatke, zbrane z odprtim tipom vprašanja v anketnem vprašalniku, smo analizirali z metodo analize vsebine.

Sekundarni naslov: Quality and respect in maternity care
Sekundarni povzetek: Basis (purpose): The final work focuses on examining the incidence of disrespectful behaviour in the care of a birthing woman. We estimated the percentage of women in Slovenia who experienced abusive behaviour at birth and described the form of malpractice and compared the data with the results of existing research. Research Methodology and Methods: The theoretical part reviewed the scientific literature on quality and respect in postpartum care, and the empirical part provided an observational cross-sectional study. We used the survey method. A chi-square test was used to evaluate the hypothesis. A p-value (p <0.05) was used to test the hypothesis and identify statistically significant differences. Data collected with the open-ended questions in the questionnaire were analysed using the content analysis method. Results: We rejected the hypothesis that more than 20 % of women in Slovenia received one or more forms of disrespectful behaviour; there was 15.9 % of them, which is comparable to research from other countries. Safety, professionalism and empowerment were recognized as the main elements of quality in midwifery care for the birthing mother. Discussion and Conclusion: We have found that most women in obstetric care have received respectful treatment. Midwives and nurses are health professionals who are in constant contact with the birthing mother, so they are ideally placed to defend and support the interests of the mother and to be the first line of defence against disrespectful and poor treatment.
