diplomsko delo

Sekundarni naslov: Integration of older workers into the workplace
Sekundarni povzetek: Like the world population also the Slovenian population is ageing. The consequence is that with this trend the retirement age is also raising because otherwise there will not be enough workforce. In Slovenia work activity of older workers is relatively low and the government will have to take some actions to achieve higher work activity of older people. Like every generation also older workers have certain characteristics and they can be both, positive and negative. The problem is that older workers are often facing with stereotypes at work. However, the employment of older people also has certain important advantages, such as having a lot of knowledge and experiences and being perceived as very reliable and loyal to the company in which they work. Diploma theses describes different ways of integration and age management in the labour market. The focus was on identifying key issues that older workers face on the work place and to find ways for better integration of older workers into the workplace. In the empirical part a survey was conducted to find out how the Slovenian companies cope with the ageing of the workforce and what kind of measures they have to deal with older employees. The main finding is that Slovenian companies are not yet fully prepared for the ageing of the workforce and still have a lot of room for improvement in this area, most often in small companies.
