(diplomsko delo)
Metode: Izvedli smo sistematični pregled znanstvene literature v mednarodnih podatkovnih bazah CINAHL, MEDLINE in Web of Science v obdobju desetih let (2010-2020). Potek pregleda literature smo prikazali s pomočjo diagrama PRISMA.

Psychosocial distress and support for children with cancer during and after treatment |
Sekundarni povzetek: |
Theoretical basis: Progress in treatment of oncology paediatric patients has improved the rate of successful recoveries of cancer patients. Nevertheless, it has also caused the loss of their inner selves, their predicted and desired future and affected the quality of their lives in general. Psychosocial distress during and after cancer treatment has shown an exponent increase. The main aim of many establishments and researches, which are focused on improving the quality of patients' lives, is to establish a better future for these children/patients. Psychosocial support and relevant interventions are the key aspects to be considered in order to achieve such improvements.
Methods: We performed a systematic way of reviewing the scientific literature in the international databases CINAHL, MEDLINE and Web of Science over a period of ten years (2010-2020). The streamline of the literature review was presented using the PRISMA diagram. Articles were reviewed by title, summary and content.
Results: We found that different articles show similar results in the concluding sections. Namely, they list similar psychosocial contacts and problems that children and adolescents face during and after the cancer treatment. At the same time, almost all authors emphasize the importance of immediate and further psychosocial support.
Discussion and conclusion: In order to reduce the psychosocial distress of children and adolescents with cancer during and after the treatment, distress and forms of psychosocial care need to be researched better as well as included in daily care and treatment. Due to the lack of resources, the topic must be privileged and/or more widely used in practice in addition to modern medicine, which is the central cause of the research in question. |
