Predstavili smo zgradbo rastlin in proces fotosinteze. Otroci so z uporabo modela pridobili novo znanje s področja rastlin in njihovega prehranjevanja.

Sekundarni naslov: An experiment with a simple photosynthesis model in kindergarten
Sekundarni povzetek: Knowledge about plants is still underestimated and ignored in preschool education, despite the fact they are important for both children and educators' general knowledge. In the first place, it is important to give children the freedom to explore so that they boost their creativity and curiosity. Doing so, both children and educators will definitely experience plants as something extraordinary and worth studying. In the theoretical part, we studied professional literature and present the significance of natural science in the pre-school period; we especially concentrate on plants and the importance of getting to know them in early education. We present their structure and the process of photosynthesis. We mainly focus on children's misconceptions about photosynthesis and explain why the process is so difficult to understand. Besides that, we highlight the importance of active learning for children and the role of the educator in passing on the knowledge about plants. In the empirical part, we present the process of making an authorial model of plant nutrition, which we photographically documented. The test with the model was practically done with a kindergarten group of children aged 5-6. The results are described and presented in observation charts and graphs. While writing the paper, we found out that the use of the model has a positive effect on a more vivid understanding of photosynthesis. Through its use, children gained new knowledge about plants and their nutrition. We realize that with the help of active learning and a prototype model, we can introduce more demanding contents to preschool children as well.
